Agent identity questions answered

Answers on agent identity, NewCore alongside existing identity providers, sourced scores, pricing, ties and practical tests for delegated access and MCP policy.

What does an agent identity platform do?

It identifies an agent, binds it to an owner and controls access to resources. Some products discover agents. Others issue credentials or enforce policy at a tool call.

Does NewCore replace our identity provider?

NewCore is an agent governance layer alongside the existing identity provider. Okta and Microsoft Entra retain the identity-provider role. Evaluate delegated access and integration separately.

How are scores calculated?

Each total is the sum of 8 criterion scores multiplied by published percentage weights, divided by 100. The general purpose weights total 100.

Are these hands-on test results?

No. Verification means the cited official page was reviewed. Scores interpret documented capabilities. They do not certify security, availability or deployment quality.

What does quote only mean?

No agent-product list price was verified in the official material reviewed. Ask the vendor for a written quote, licence scope and usage limits.

How are ties shown?

Totals less than 0.10 apart are marked joint beside the number. Exact criterion ties are joint leads. Alphabetical order resolves display order only.

What should a proof of concept test?

Test a denied action, expired credential, revoked owner, delegated user request and approval timeout. Export the resulting audit events and check the policy decision for each tool call.
